Bernard "Ben" DeFusco Obituary

Bernard “Ben” DeFusco, 90, of Warwick and previously North Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family.   He was the devoted husband to the late Dorothy (Cornell) DeFusco.  They were married for 64 wonderful years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Nicolo) DeFusco.  Ben was a graduate of North Providence High School.  He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army Reserves, and worked as a manager at I.T.T. Royal Electric.  In later years, he owned and operated Telcords, Inc. manufacturing company.

Ben was always known for his quiet demeanor and was the definition of a gentleman.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and being by the water.   Ben enjoyed seeing the hummingbirds come to the beautiful flowers displayed on his porch.  He built many bird feeders and bird houses to watch the variety of birds in his yard which the family grew to enjoy as well.  Ben dabbled in oil painting and over the years, he shared several of his paintings with family. He was a Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots fan.  During his retirement, he and Dorothy spent many winters in Florida.  Ben also spent much of his time at his grandchildren’s sporting events.  He was their biggest fan and never missed a game.  Most of all, Ben loved being with his family as they gathered together to share meals and laughter.

Ben leaves his beloved children, Donna Delaney and her husband Philip of Putnam, CT., Linda Potvin and her husband David of North Providence and Susan Bertelli and her husband Paul of South Kingstown.  Ben was the cherished grandfather to Derek Calabro and his wife Amanda, Michael Calabro and his wife Amy, Melissa and David Potvin, Matthew Bertelli and his fiancé Shealyn and Ryan Bertelli and his fiancé Nicole.  He was also a loving great-grandfather to Sophia, Ryder and Oliver.  Ben had several adoring nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Evelyn Fascitelli and Marie Costa.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.  Burial will be private.
