In Loving Memory of Benno Lebkuchner, December 18,1930 - January 27, 2025.
It is with great sadness that the family of Benno Lebkuchner, 94, announce his passing. Benno a beloved grandfather, father, husband, brother, and friend left this world January 27, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Benno resided in Brooklyn Ct, formerly of Warwick, RI, he is survived by his wife of 21 years Joan, children Karl (Lanna) of Warwick RI, Amy Ramirez (Edgar) of Dumont NJ; grandchildren Zachary (Laura), Erik, Derek, Janet, and Mae; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
His love of family extended with his second marriage to Joan, including his stepmother Edna Sparling, stepson Phil Haskell of Jefferson, Ohio, step-grandchildren Rachael (Joe) Formica of Colchester, CT, Marlena Morrison, Jacob Haskell, Mika Haskell, Joshua Haskell, and step-great granddaughter Teresa, forming a loving melded family together with his children.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet (Melkonian), son Mark, brother Willi, and his parents Karl and Nellie(Widmer).
Benno was born in Aarau and raised in Granichen Switzerland, he served in the Swiss Army, apprenticed in various trades and earned his college degree in mechanical engineering. Benno began working for a Swiss firm that sold a new mechanical pump to a small company located in the United States of America. Taco, located in Rhode Island would only make the business deal if they had an engineer to oversee the project; boldly Benno volunteered, forever changing the course of his life. His work in mechanical engineering was marked by integrity, accuracy, and innovation, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
A true Swiss he was a methodical thinker, a dynamic athlete, and an enthusiastic adventurer. Throughout his life, he was known for his athleticism, intelligence, and loyalty, which touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a love for soccer, skiing, tennis, gardening, and all things cheese related.
As a father, Benno was a guiding light, offering wisdom, love, and unwavering support to his children. His cleverness, strength and life lessons will forever live on in their hearts.
Above all, Benno cherished his grandchildren, he was the rock upon which his grandchildren leaned and found strength. His laughter, kindness, and gentle spirit created love and cherished memories.
A viewing will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025, at 10:30AM, followed by a service at 11:30AM, at the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick R.I.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to his favorite charity, the Salvation Army, 386 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02907.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Benno’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who knew him.
