Barbara R. O'Connor

Barbara R. O'Connor, 84, formerly of Warwick, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated professional, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Antoines Nursing Home in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. She was the loving wife of the late John E. O'Connor. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Donald P. and Barbara I. (Floyd) Walsh.

Barbara was a devoted mother who cherished her family deeply. During her career, she made significant contributions to the business world. Barbara worked at the Gorham Silver Company for 18 years, serving as the Assistant to the Director of Marketing and Sales, as well as the Sales Administration Manager for the gift division. Her commitment and expertise left a lasting impact on the company. Barbaras passion for customer service extended beyond Gorham. She also held managerial roles at the A.T. Cross Company and the Possible Dreams Company. Her dedication to excellence and her warm demeanor endeared her to colleagues and customers alike.

In her personal life, Barbara had a zest for adventure. Her work allowed her to travel extensively, and she relished exploring major cities across the United States. Whether it was the bustling streets of New York or the scenic beauty of San Francisco, Barbara found joy in every journey. Barbaras love extended to her six wonderful grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love.

She is survived by her beloved children, Sean OConnor of Smithfield, Rhode Island; Paul Johnson of Ft. Myers, Florida; and Meredith Baker of Salem, Indiana. She was the mother of the late Donna Johnson Shirley.

A Private Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Barbaras life. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choosing.

Barbara R. OConnor will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May her soul rest in peace.
