Arnold Kaija Obituary

Arnold R. Kaija, 77, of East Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born to the late Tauno and Helen Kaija in Reading, Vermont.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Glenda; his sons Thomas (and wife Becky), Tim, and Alec (and wife Arean); his daughter Kirstin; two grandchildren Claire and Pearl; sister Julie and brother Kevin.

He was a kind soul who embodied hard work, integrity, and dependability in everything he did.

Arnold held a BS and Master’s degree from Northeastern University and went on to become a licensed Professional Engineer. He was passionate about his career, and was dedicated to his work at EDS, who were like family to him. He will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues.

Arnold was enthusiastic about BMW adventure bikes, taking group rides with friends on and off-road many times a year – sometimes cross-country. He was an active member of the Ocean State BMW riders, BMW MOV and Yankee Beemers Motorcycle club.

Other hobbies of his were fly fishing, hiking, camping, sailing, and bike riding. He also loved taking walks with his wife and dog Willy. Arnold especially loved watching college football and cheering on his beloved New England Patriots.

Arnold touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held in his honor at a later date.
