Ann Bickford Hall

Ann Hall was born on August 8, 1939 in Westerly Rhode Island and died on June 8, 2025 at Kent Memorial Hospital in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Ann lived in Falmouth, Massachusetts with her husband, Charles Hall for the past 34 years, until Charlie died on December 4, 2024. Since then she has lived alone. She has struggled with cancer for the past year and a half and her health has declined in the past couple of months. She was able to spend time with her family the night before entering the hospital and her children were with her at the time of death. She was ready and it was peaceful.

Ann is survived by her children: Laura, Carl, and Debi, son-in-law: Glenn, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her brothers Robert and David.

Ann loved the ocean. From the windows of her house, she could see Great Bay, which was a short walk from the ocean. She could smell the ocean breezes from her windows.

Ann was an accomplished musician from early childhood. She played piano and accompanied school performances and played for recitals. She also studied singing. She and her sister performed together singing duets and won many competitions.

In her later life, she taught piano for many years. She was still teaching two of her favorite students of 40 years until the past couple of months. She sang duets with her piano student and friend Diane, and also in the choir at the Congregational Church in Canton, Massachusetts for over 30 years. Her piano teaching and singing at the church were a very important part of her life for many years. She said many times that music was what kept her alive.

Ann earned a bachelors degree from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts in psychology and music. She enjoyed classical music ice skating, reading, gardening, house plants and her cats. Family was most important to her and she had many good friends. She was a compassionate, caring, and loving person who is loved by many. We will all miss her very much.

The memorial service for Ann Hall will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 12:00 P.M. at the Congregational Church of Canton, Massachusetts at 1541 Washington St., Canton, MA 01021.
