Filomena J. (Macaruso) Shea , 83, formerly of North Williams Street, Johnston passed away Thursday at Miriam Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Shea for 59 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Maria T. (Giarrusso) Macaruso.

Mrs. Shea was a member of Holy Cross Church in Providence. Filomena enjoyed motorcycling with her husband.

She is survived by her daughter Roberta A. Slattery and her husband Peter of Johnston and two granddaughters Kailynn and Kendra Slattery. She was the sister of the late John and Anthony Macaruso.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-6 pm.
