Cynthia L. (Hamm) Spencer, 53, of Exeter, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Born in North Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. Hamm, Sr. and Dottie J. (Dean) Moniz. She was the loving wife of David L. Spencer.

Mrs. Spencer was a Housekeeper for the University of Rhode Island. She enjoyed dancing gardening, camping, boating, cooking, and loved traveling with her friends. She was a lover of animals and leaves her beloved dog, Louie, and cat, Matilda.

Besides her husband, she leaves her son, Christopher M. Hinkson and his wife Cheryl of Exeter, step-father, Joseph Moniz of Exeter, father and mother-in-law, The Rev. Canon Peter L. Spencer and his wife Eugenia of Green Hill. She was the sister of Robert C. Hamm, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Sue H. Haburchak of Denver, CO, Michael J. Moniz of Boulder, CO, Daniel Blackburn of Gunbarrel, CO, and Linda Blackburn of CA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 3:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The Exeter Animal Shelter, 169 South County Trail, Exeter RI 02822 will be appreciated.
