Lorraine G. (Gallant) Machnik, 86, formerly of Warwick passed away August 28, 2011 at North Bay Manor. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Machnik, Jr. Born in New Bedford, MA, she was a daughter of the late Francois and Marie (Ethier) Gallant.

Mrs. Machnik was the owner and operator of Lorraine's Yarn Shop in New Bedford, MA for 15 years until her retirement. She was also a licensed hairdresser for 5 years, Director of Activities for several nursing homes and a teacher of adult education for 20 years. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Warwick.

She was the loving mother of John J. Machnik of Warwick, Anne M. Dumas of Cumberland, Louise M. Hall of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Joan M. Lewis of Freetown, MA. Cherished grandmother of seven and great grandmother of four. She was the sister of the late Francois Gallant, Jeannette Plaud and Lucille Lacoste.

A Private Mass was celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Warwick. Arrangements by THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME.
