Frances L. (Salisbury) Vlachos,
87, of East Greenwich, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 25 2011 at St. Elizabeth Home. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. Salisbury and Leona M. (LaFleur) Salisbury.
Mrs. Vlachos was an Attendant at the former Ladd School of Exeter for many years. She was a Communicant of St. Bernard Church and a former member of the Cranston Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics and traveling with her colleagues from Ladd School.
She leaves her four children: Peter J. Vlachos and his wife Linda of West Warwick, Margaret E. Mann of West Warwick, George E. Vlachos of Jamestown, and Gloria J. Hurkett and her husband Stephen of Johnston. Cherished grandmother of Jana MacDougall of Texas, Dennis Vlachos of Texas, Michael Mann of Ashaway, Dawn Jackson of South Kingstown, Katherine Kenyon of Cranston, Michael Vlachos of North Kingstown, Rebecca Vietri of Jamestown, Jason Almy, Jessica Almy, and Robert Potter, all of Johnston, David Potter of Fall River, MA, great-grandmother of 16, and great-great-grandmother of 2. She was the sister of Mildred Golding of North Kingstown, Lois Dowell of North Kingstown, Eleanor Graichen of East Greenwich, and the late Harry E. Salisbury, Jr. and Owen E. Salisbury. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, Wickford. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
