Paul E. Taylor, 87, of Warwick passed away Friday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor M. (Gearing) Taylor with whom he was married for 61 years. Born in Altoona, PA, he was a son of the late Earl and Helen (Thompson) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was The International Marketing Manager for Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co., retiring after 45 years of service. He served in The United States Army during WW II. He was a member of Nathaniel Green Lodge F&AM and was an avid chess player and fisherman and in his retirement organized several chess clubs for both youth and seniors and was himself a Class A. Tournament Player.

He was the loving father of Richard A. Taylor and his wife Kim, Linda J. Ritchie and her husband Joseph, Paula L. Durso and her husband Michael, and the late Robert Paul Taylor. Cherished grandfather of four and great grandfather of one. He was the brother of the late Robert Earl Taylor and Alvin Richard Taylor.

His funeral and burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Rhode Island Hospital, 593 Eddy St., Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
