Erkki O. "Eric" Turunen, 84, of Benefit Street, Providence passed away Monday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the companion of the late Dr. Eugene K. Burns. Born in Viipuri, Finland, he was the son of the late Vilho and Anna (Keskinen) Turunen.

Erkki was a Sales Representative for E.K.B. Assoc. Inc. of New Jersey from 1982 until his retirement in 1990 and previously for the Outlet Co. for 21 years. He enjoyed gardening and gourmet cooking.

He is survived by many close and dear friends.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in The Historic Swan Point Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
