Virginia F. (Lord) Jordan, 90, formerly of Wethersfield Drive, Warwick, passed away Sunday at Sunny View Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George F. Jordan, Jr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Mildred F. (Buzzell) Lord.

Mrs. Jordan was an Educator for the Warwick School System for 25 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church where she served on various church boards and committees. She was a graduate of Classical High School and Rhode Island College of Education, class of 1942.

She was the beloved mother of David K. Jordan and his wife Maureen of Johnston, Meredith L. Nelson and her husband Keith of Coventry and Donna L. Colburn and her husband William of Ashville, NC. Caring sister of George E. “Bud” Lord, Jr. and his wife Joyce and the late Shirley Everson. Loving grandmother of seven and great grandmother of eight. She was predeceased by one great grandchild Cameron Osberg. Cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held Friday at 9:00 am in Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5-8 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
