Arthur E. Lamoureux

Arthur E. Lamoureux, 91, of Warwick passed away Tuesday at Kent Hospital where he had been a patient for 5 days. He was the beloved husband of Anna M. (Johnson) Lamoureux. Born in Quincy, MA, he was a son of the late Alfred E. Lamoureux and Lena (Caporal) Lamoureux-Warner-Kraemer.

Mr. Lamoureux was a Packaging Engineer for General Electric Co. in Providence, retiring in 1982 after 40 years of service.

A WW II Veteran, he served in The United States Navy with the Seabees in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Presbyterian Reformed Church since 1978, where he was an Elder. From 1970-1976 he was an Elder at Clayville Church in Foster and previously a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Warwick where he served on the parish council and a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran in Providence where he was active in several parish ministries. He also enjoyed gardening and working about his home.

Mr. Lamoureux made great sacrifices for the benefit of his family.

He was the loving father of A. Kenneth Lamoureux and Stephen C. Lamoureux, both of Warwick, Mark E. Lamoureux of Sutton, MA, Laurel A. Dickman of Morganton, GA, Faith E. DeBoer of Saunderstown and the late Alan D. Lamoureux. Caring brother of Alfred Lamoureux Sr. of Coventry and Marion Knekties of Cumberland. Cherished grandfather of seven and great grandfather of one.

His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm.
