Elaine V. (Nelson) MacKay,
70, of North Kingstown, RI, died peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2011. She was the loving wife of Norman A. MacKay for fifty years.
She is survived by her children, Jodi (MacKay) Quilty and her husband Joe of Tewksbury MA, Lance MacKay and his wife Maryann of Dracut MA, and Kari MacKay of Methuen, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren, Joseph III, Jeffrey and Jimmy Quilty, Megan and Kyle MacKay and Ashley Madison.
Elaine was born in Squantum, MA on October 24, 1940 to Gordon and Vera Nelson. On April 8, 1961 she married Norman MacKay. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children. Her favorite activities were going to yard sales and consignment stores. She was a fantastic cook and collector of cookbooks. Twelve years ago she moved to Wickford, a village and people she loved, and decided to spend the rest of her life there.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10:00 am in The First Baptist Church in Wickford, 34-44 Main Street, North Kingstown. Burial will be private. Calling hours Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
