Mildred A. (Vitko) Leigh, 64, of Exeter, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 11, 2011. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late John A. Vitko and Mildred E. (Goughnour) Vitko of Mineral Point, PA. She was the companion of the late Ralph DeCiantis, III.

Millie was a vibrant and strong woman who faced more than her share of life's challenges with determination and a zest for life, who overcame the odds to love and laugh and experience life to its fullest with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, NASCAR, football, and her beloved birds.

She leaves her two children: Terri L. MacLean and her husband Gavin of Cranston and William D. Leigh of Altoona, PA. She was the grandmother of Jasmine N. Leigh of Narragansett. Cherished sister of John A. Vitko and his wife Jill of North Kingstown, Susan V.J. Smith and her husband Frank of Shallotte, NC, Lenny E. Vitko and his wife Debbie of Mineral Point, PA, Tina L. Dixon and her husband Bill of Emporium, PA, Mark P. Vitko and his wife Kirsten of Griswold, CT, and the late Helen M. Howard. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm in East Greenwich United Methodist Church, 1558 South County Trail, East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
