Dolores (Cotnoir) Quinn

Dolores (Cotnoir) Quinn, 100 years young, passed away peacefully at her home on Melbourn Road, Warwick on July 12 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Ann (Paradis) Cotnoir. Del was the devoted wife of the late John F. Quinn, former Pawtucket mayor (1933-37).

She is survived by sons John F. Quinn, Jr. of Warwick, Richard M. Quinn (Jean) of Indianapolis, IN, daughters Dolores D. Splaine (David) of East Greenwich, Patricia Q. Stack (Richard) of Ballston Lake, NY, predeceased by her late son Thomas Quinn of Troy, MI, and also predeceased by five brothers. She was survived by 16 grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Consummate wife, mother and homemaker, Del was first lady of Pawtucket at the age of 23 during her husband's mayoralty. She made her home in that city for 40 years before moving to the family summer home in Cedar Tree Point, Warwick, where she has resided since 1982.

Del traveled extensively with the Brown University Alumni Association, was a volunteer at Pawtucket Memorial and Kent County Hospitals, the American Heart Association and the Sunshine Club. A member of the Potowomut Golf Club, she played golf into her 90s and bridge well into her 100th year.

Calling hours are 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday, July 15 in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16 in SS. Rose & Clement Parish, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Interment will follow in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket Avenue, Pawtucket.
