Elizabeth A. (Davis) Kelly, 87, of Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 20, 2011. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Davis, Sr. and Elizabeth (Sloan) Davis. She was the wife of the late David V. Kelly.

Betty was a Homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved laughter, music, dancing, the ocean, and all things beautiful. She was a voracious reader of the daily newspaper, retaining a sharp and insightful understanding of global events well into her golden years.

Her compassionate understanding of people made her a valuable friend. The greatest love of her life was her family. We will all miss the evenings spent at her home where we laughed, talked and listened to her picking out Sinatra tunes on the piano. She will be greatly missed. Betty was a communicant of St. Bernard Church, member of the Belles of Beechwood, the Red Hat Society, and volunteered with the Women's Guild of the North Kingstown United Methodist Church.

She leaves her three children: Elizabeth A. Leaper and her husband Jeff of Waterford, CT, Mary E. Morrissey of Saunderstown, and David C. Kelly of North Kingstown. Cherished grandmother of Vanessa E. Dunlop of Saunderstown, Kaitlin K. Morrissey of Phoenix, AZ, Elisabeth K. Morrissey of Providence, and great-grandmother to Riley Dunlop and Sadie Mae Nichols. She was the sister of the late Charles E. Davis, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 9:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Road, Wickford. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
