Ernest T. Anderson, Sr.

Ernest T. Anderson, Sr., 93, of Exeter passed away June 15, 2011. A long-time resident of Exeter, he was the founder of Anderson's Woodworking. He was active in town affairs and loved raising and showing his prize Highland cattle. Ernest served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a charter member of the Exeter Volunteer Fire Department #1, and member of the Northeast Highland Cattle Association and the American Highland Cattle Association.

Ernest was the husband of the late Jane L. (Rhodes) Anderson, brother of the late H. Beatrice (Anderson) Hammond, and was companion to Ann Marie Tammi. He is survived by his son, Ernest T. Anderson, Jr. of Exeter; Two daughters, Kerry R. Petersen and her husband John of Andover, MA and Beth L. Anderson of Wakefield; Four grandchildren, Rebecca A. Huling, Janette L. Cole and her husband Christian, Gail E. Tourgee, and Raymond S. Huling and his wife Kimberly; Five great-grandsons, Eric, Darren, Alex, Austin, and Stephen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families. He was loved and will be missed by many.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
