William G. Bustin,
87, of Warwick, died peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Morgan Health Center. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Gordon and Mary Bustin. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Ramsey) Bustin. The couple had been married for 63 years.
Mr. Bustin was employed as a Senior Engineer by the State of RI for 24 years until his retirement in 1986. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Paratrooper in the Infantry Division, receiving the Purple Heart for wounds received during The Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, February 1945. He was a member of the 551 St. Parachute Infantry Battalion Association and the Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughter, Catherine A. Holland and her husband Francis A. Holland, his two grandchildren, Kathryn R. Holland, and Nicholas J. Holland, all of Warwick. He also leaves his faithful dog, "Teddy."
His funeral service will be held Monday, June 13. 2011 at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
