Jovina A. (Santos) Serpa, 90, formerly of Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, died peacefully at home on Friday, May 27, 2011. Born in Pico Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel S. dos Santos, Jr. and Jovina A. (Sarmento) dos Santos. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Serpa.

Mrs. Serpa was employed as a Nurse's Aide for the RI Medical Center until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and active with St. Anthony Sisters of the Rosary.

She leaves her son, Jovelina Serpa and his wife Anne of Carolina, RI. Cherished grandmother of Celana Serpa of Carolina RI and Jill Berk of Pawcatuck, CT. She was the loving sister of Maria Lopes of Pico, Azores.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 8:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the St. Anthony Building Fund, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893 will be appreciated.
