Harold E. Soderlund, 81, of Cranston, died peacefully at Kent Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harold Soderlund and Isabelle (McKenna) Soderlund. He was the loving husband of Helen M. (May) Soderlund.

Mr. Soderlund was a Melter for Bulova, Inc. for 26 years until his retirement in 1990. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he leaves his two children: Steven L. Soderlund and his wife Patti of Cranston, and Sandra J. Colgan of Cranston. He was the loving grandfather of Jason Colgan and his wife Lynsey, Kelly Colgan, Steven Soderlund, and great-grandfather of Jack Colgan and Katie Colgan.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
