Jean I. Mortensen, 76, of Warwick passed away Wednesday at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Russell F. Mortensen. Born in Barrington, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Mildred (Russell) Gallagher.

Mrs. Mortensen was an Insurance Representative for The Insurance Center in Warwick until her retirement in 2004. She was a graduate of Morton High School and was an active member of Woodbury Union Church Presbyterian. She enjoyed playing in a card league, golf league and bowling league. She leaves a wide circle of friends.

She was the beloved mother of Karl E. Mortensen of South Kingstown, Robert J. Cooke, Jr. of Warwick and Kristi Ann Borst of Wells, ME. Caring sister of Patricia Wyatt of Narragansett. Loving grandmother of six and great grandmother of one.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:30 am in Woodbury Union Church, West Shore Road at Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Woodbury Union Church Presbyterian Scholarship Fund, 58 Beach Ave., Warwick, RI 02889 would be appreciated.
