Elizabeth A. (Smith) Drew, R.N., 87, of Warwick passed away Wednesday at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leonard R. Drew. They were married May 2, 1953 in Holy Name Church in Providence. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late George C.H. and Alice V. (Collins) Smith.

Mrs. Drew served as a Registered Nurse in the Maternity Unit of Kent Hospital from 1973 until her retirement in 1985. She was a 1934 graduate of Highland Grammar School, a 1940 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and a 1945 graduate of the Truesdale Hospital Nursing School and Cadet Nurses Corps, all in Fall River, MA. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from Rhode Island College. In 1970 she received a Teacher's Certificate and served as a School Nurse and Teacher at Ponaganset High School Foster-Glocester. Mrs. Drew enjoyed reading, knitting, needlepoint and traveling.

She was the beloved mother of Leonard R. Drew, Jr. and his wife Susan of Hanover, MA, Peter K. Drew and his wife Janine of Bensalem, PA, Richard H. Drew and his wife Laura of Durham, NC and the late Dana Drew. Loving grandmother of Meghan, Kathryn, Matthew, Allyson, Christopher and David.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 pm.
