Catherine L. (White) Garland, 60, of Cranston, formerly of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Russell K. White and Mary J. (Joyce) White. She was the loving wife of Wayne R. Garland and the wife of the late Jacob H. Harrison.

Mrs. Garland was a Homemaker who enjoyed painting, and collecting Boyds Bears and dolls. She was active with the Shih Tzu Fur Baby Rescue, where she cared for abandoned and abused animals.

Besides her husband, she leaves a step-daughter, Miranda L. Girouard-Garland and her sister, Candace White. She was the sister of the late Russell White. She also leaves her beloved dog, Munchkin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
