Joshua G. "Jody" Essex , 57, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Nancy M. (Sturdivant) Essex and loving father of Jacqueline and Megan Essex. Born in Warwick and raised in North Kingstown, he was the oldest son of Lloyd and Helen (Jackson) Essex of East Greenwich.

Josh worked as a Carpenter for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. His passion was cars.

Josh was big brother to Bonnie-Jean Briggs and Rudy Procaccianti, Benjamin and Corina Essex, Joel and Claudia Essex. Uncle to Adrian, Amber, Jacob, Tobey, Ethan, and Erin Essex.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Godfrey-Essex Family Cemetery, Old Quaker Lane & Division Street, with a gathering to follow at Clouds Hill Farm, 5157 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Clouds Hill Farm will be appreciated.
