Maria Constantina (Voulgarakis) George,
wife of Rev Fr Andrew G. George, Protopresbyter at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Cranston passed on suddenly and unexpectedly on August 20 from medical complications following a fall. She was 64 years of age.
Born in Vavili, Chios, Greece, she came to the USA as a 3 year old child and resided in Weirton, WV until her marriage.
Mrs. George was a beautician for the first have half of her adult life in West Virginia, Rochester, New York, Bangor, Maine and Rhode Island and a teacher's assistant for the second half of her adult life with Cranston Schools and currently at the Kent Heights School in East Providence. At the Annunciation Parish she has taught the 4th grade Sunday Church School Classes for the past 27 years. She was a sweet and kind lady, cordial to one and all, who followed style and fashion as a special interest.
Besides her husband she is survived by her two children - Anthony Nektarios George of Cranston and Kassiane Eleni Campopiano and husband Michael of North Providence and a grandson, Giulian Andrew Campopiano; by two siblings - Vickie Trombettas and husband Angelos of Huntington, NY and Matthew Voulgarakis and wife Liberty of Newtown, PA. She was preceded in death by an infant brother Panteleimon.
Calling hours will be held in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave (route 5) Cranston on Thursday August 23 from 4-8PM. On Friday, August 24, a Liturgy will be served at 9:30am followed by the Funeral Service at 11am. Interment will be at the Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
In lieu of flowers - remembrance donations may be made to either the Annunciation Church Memorial Fund or the Annunciation Church Endowment Fund.
