William C. "Nip" Waring, III

William C. "Nip" Waring, III, 78, of Wickford, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William C. Waring, Jr. and Elizabeth (Respess) Waring. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Boothman) Waring.

Mr. Waring was a graduate of Moses Brown, Brown University, and attended Bryant University. He was employed at Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company for many years and was the owner of Waring Bait & Tackle, Waring Glass Company, and B & L Seafood.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was an active member of the South County Rod & Gun Club since the age of 19, and assisted with the organization of the Point Judith Bass & Bluefish Tournament. He was the former Chairman of the North Kingstown Conservation Commission and was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford.

Besides his wife, he leaves his devoted daughter Patricia Waring-Ward and her husband Mark of Wickford. Cherished grandfather of Tyler Waring Ward of Jamestown, Claudia Coe Wojcik and her husband Matthew of South Kingstown, and Alexis Respess Ward of Wickford. He also leaves his faithful dogs and companions: Sophie, Gus, Dayzee, and Otis.

His Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Odyssey Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886 or to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford will be appreciated.
