Olive (Burrill) Jones, 97, who resided with her grandson Robert B. Howes and his wife Deborah in Coventry, passed away Monday at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Fred Jones.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Karl W. and Hattie C. (Drummond) Burrill. She was a graduate of Hope High School, class of 1932.

Mrs. Jones was an Inspector for Sealol Corp. for 26 1/2 years until her retirement on June 30, 1977.

She was a past president of the Foster Center Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary as well as a past president of the Friendship Club which met at St. Williams Church. She also served as a Literary Volunteer for three years at the Coventry Library.

She was the beloved mother of R. Bruce Howes of Ocoee, FL, Linda H. Hanson of Winsted, CT and James P. Howes of Newport, RI. Loving grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of twelve, great great-grandmother of three and step-grandmother of two.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday, June 28th from 4-7 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Funeral and burial will be private.
