M. Agnes (Menagh) Gomes, 94, a resident of The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, passed away Thursday at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard R. Gomes. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Agnes C. (Johnson) Menagh.

Mrs. Gomes was an Office Worker for New England Paper Tube Co. in Pawtucket until her retirement in 1988 and previously for Ann & Hope Inc. in Cumberland. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church and for many years a communicant of St. Leo The Great Church, both in Pawtucket. She was a member of the St. Leo Seniors and St. Patrick Senior Citizens.

She was the beloved mother of John F. Gomes and Donald F. Gomes, both of Pawtucket, Patricia A. McKenna of West Warwick and Joanne D. Dorrance of South Kingstown. Loving grandmother of seventeen, great-grandmother of twenty-six and great great-grandmother of one. She was the sister of the late William F. Menagh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 am in The Chapel of The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 pm in The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence.
