Dorothy Ann (Hobin) Murphy, 80, of Warwick, died peacefully at Kent Hospital on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John M. Hobin and Mary E. (Collins) Hobin. She was the loving wife of Raymond B. Murphy. The couple had been married for 61 years.

Mrs. Murphy was employed as a Secretary for Ballou, Johnson & Nichols, and previously at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co. for several years. She was a member of Sts. Rose & Clement Parish and an avid Red Sox fan.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Dorothy A. Lutynski and her husband Eric of Warwick, Kathryn P. Fitzgerald and her husband James of Clinton, CT, William M. Murphy and his wife Machaela R. of Warwick, Joanne M. Pfeiler and her husband Joseph of Warwick, Maureen E. Murphy of Warwick, and the late Raymond B. Murphy, Jr. and James R. Murphy. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of William Hobin of MA, James Hobin of NC, Raymond Hobin of East Greenwich, Robert Hobin of Warwick, and the late Mary Goodman, John Hobin, Claire Deery, and Kathryn Dannemann. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 9:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.
