Manuel S. Madeira,
88, of Pawtucket, passed away Monday at The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence. He was the husband of the late Helen (Isabelle) Madeira. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Sophia Madeira.
Mr. Madeira was a Firefighter for the City of Pawtucket until his retirement and was also employed at The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence for 38 years. He served in The United States Navy during WW II.
He is survived by his beloved children Linda Bainton and her husband Wayne of Middletown and Carl Madeira of Florida; 2 loving grandchildren Joshua Bainton of Newport and Sarah Bainton-Kahn and her husband Zack of Washington, D.C.; a cherished great-grandson Elijah Kahn; and his caring siblings Joseph Madeira, Bella Rainey and Delores Gomes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 am in The Chapel of The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5-8 pm at The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
