Filomena A. (LaFazia) O'Connor,
96, of Pawtucket, formerly of Rumford, died peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. Jeanne Jugan Residence. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenico LaFazia and Antonetta (Accera) LaFazia. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. O'Connor.
Mrs. O'Connor was a Spinner in the textile industry for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, knitting, and music.
She leaves her devoted children: Jeremiah C. O'Connor of Seekonk, MA, Maureen F. Allen of East Providence, Theresa M. Perry of Warwick, Sheila A. Baker of Conyers, GA, and Thomas J. O'Connor of Scituate. She was the mother of the late Nora O'Connor. Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Domenic LaFazia of Roseville, CA, Carmela Renzi of Warwick, and the late Carlo LaFazia U.S.A., Judith Di Sandro, Anna Raposa, Evelyn Evangelista-Jennie and Lucy LaFazia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Jeanne Jugan Residence on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.
