Kathleen G. (Dell) Metzger, 76, of Exeter, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at South County Hospital. Born in Billericay, England, she was a daughter of the late William W. Dell and Margaret M. (Courtney) Dell. She was the loving wife of Alan W. Metzger, to whom she was married for 47 years.

Mrs. Metzger was a Homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She immigrated to Rhode Island from England at the age of 19 to help her sister's family. She was a Communicant of St. Bernard Parish and a member of the Wickford Yacht Club. Mrs. Metzger lived in North Kingstown and Exeter for the past 50 years and had a special love for Wickford Village.

Besides her husband, she leaves her three children: Eileen M. Bulger and her husband Douglas of Seattle, WA, Susan M. Blazek and her husband Alfred of Lake Orion, MI, and Scott F. Metzger and his wife Rebecca of Plymouth, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and the sister of Margaret Bailey, Sheila McEwen, and George Dell, all of England.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, 415 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
