Lawrence W. Maheu, 97, of North Kingstown passed away Monday at home. He was the husband of the late Marion E. (Wright) Maheu. They were married on June 1, 1940. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert and Lillian (Landrie) Maheu.

Mr. Maheu was a printer for Livermore & Knight Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1969, and was then a custodian for the Warwick School System at Winman Junior High School for 10 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Lithographers Union, Local 239 M for 59 years and a member of the M&W Racing Team.

He was the beloved father of Judith M. Clark of Warwick, Shirley A. Lucier of North Kingstown and the late Arthur E. Maheu and Barbara J. Maheu. Loving grandfather of ten, great-grandfather of nine and great great-grandfather of four. He was the brother of the late Alfred, Ernest, Oliver and Raymond Maheu.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm.
