Joan M. (Little) Engelhardt, 78, of Warwick passed away Sunday at home. She was the wife of the late Carl A. Engelhardt, Jr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Elizabeth (Bracken) Little.

Mrs. Engelhardt was an Educator for the Warwick School System for 14 years and at St. Rose of Lima School for 12 years until her retirement. She was a graduate of Cranston High School and Rhode Island College of Education. She was a member of SS Rose and Clement Parish and its Rosary and Altar Guild.

She was the beloved mother of Karin E. Peters and her husband Thomas of Warwick, David R. Engelhardt and his wife Patricia of Farmington, CT, Steven A. Engelhardt of Exeter, Robert D. Engelhardt of Warwick, Thomas J. Engelhardt of Johnston and James D. Engelhardt of Virginia Beach, VA. Caring sister of Walter Little of McLean, VA and William Little of Smithfield. Cherished grandmother of six and great-grandmother of one great-granddaughter.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:15 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
