Ernest T. Anderson, Jr., 68, of Exeter, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2012. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Ernest T. Anderson, Sr. and Jane L. (Rhodes) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a Woodworker with Anderson's Woodworking of Exeter for over 40 years until his retirement.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. He was active member of The Narragansett Gun Club and was a Communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford. He was an avid outdoorsman, a Champion Marksman, and enjoyed raising beagles and coon hounds.

He leaves his two beloved sisters: Kerry R. Petersen and her husband John of Andover, MA, and Beth L. Anderson of Peace Dale. Cherished uncle of Rebecca Huling of Exeter, Janette Cole of Saunderstown, Gail Tourgee of East Greenwich, Raymond Huling of West Warwick, and grand uncle of Eric, Darren, Alexander, Austin, and Stephen.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 am from THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown, with a committal service with full Military Honors to follow in the Chapel of the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
