Madeline C. (Huling) Gifford,
91, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at South County Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born in North Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late William A. Huling and Maude T. (Keene) Huling. She was the wife of the late William F. Gifford.
Mrs. Gifford was employed as a Bus Driver for the East Greenwich School System with Laidlaw until her retirement in 1985. She was a Communicant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wickford, where she served as Directress of the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, and served as a Docent at the Old Narragansett Church.
She leaves her two children: Lynda I. Deloge and her husband Dennis of North Kingstown, and Douglas W. Gifford and his wife Katherine of North Kingstown. Cherished grandmother of Justin M. L. Gifford of Westbrook, ME, Michelle N. Deloge of New York, NY, and Tiffany M. Gifford of North Kingstown. She was the loving sister of Kenneth F. Huling, Sr. of North Kingstown, and the late William A. Huling, Jr. and Eleanor Case.
Her Requiem Eucharist will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church will be appreciated.
