James H. Nicholas, Jr., 82, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Village House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Newport. A life long resident of North Kingstown, he was a son of the late James H. Nicholas, Sr. and Cora B. (Hathaway) Nicholas. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Corbin) Nicholas.

Mr. Nicholas was a dedicated employee at Albert Farms of Exeter for over 50 years until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served on the board of governors for the former American Legion Post 12. Jim was a well known and respected mechanic. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan.

He was the brother of Lloyd Nicholas and the late Martha Nichols.

A graveside service with full Military Honors was held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
