Margaret A. (Simpson) Stevens, 96, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at South County Hospital. Born in Sherrill, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Simpson and Elizabeth (Slater) Simpson. She was the wife of the late Arthur H. Stevens.

Mrs. Stevens was a Homemaker and a long time resident of North Kingstown. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford, a member of the Beach Plum Garden Club, and Beechwood Senior Center.

She leaves her beloved children: Mary S. Jezierny and her husband Peter of Seymour, CT, Linda J. Allen and her husband David of North Scituate, Nancy J. Maschler and her husband John of Greer, SC, and Robert G. Stevens and his wife Anna of New York, NY. Cherished grandmother, affectionately known as "Sugarplum" to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial in Swan Point Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or to the Beechwood Senior Center, 44 Beach Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
