Shirley A. (Bettez) Castaldi, 75, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick passed away Thursday at home. She was the beloved wife of Peter D. Castaldi for 55 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Irene (Matthias) Bettez.

Mrs. Castaldi was employed with the State of Rhode Island School Lunch Program for 10 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in West Warwick and the Holy Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Castaldi loved to play cards.

She was the beloved mother of Sherry A. DiRocco and her husband Vincent of North Carolina, Candy Castaldi of East Greenwich, Holley A. Castaldi of West Warwick and Heidi A. Medeiros and her husband Gilbert of West Warwick. Caring sister of Louise Haas of West Warwick. Loving grandmother of Luke Peter Medeiros and Mackenzie Thomas Medeiros.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Maple Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 2-6 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
