Harold S. Jackson, Sr.,
79, of Warwick passed away Thursday at home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Borges) Jackson. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Sidney and Ruth (Mann) Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a glass blower and sign maker for the former Hub Sign Co. A Korean War Veteran, he served in The United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Allen M. Sumner D.D. 692 and was a member of the reunion group. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Warwick, served as Secretary of the Blind Veterans Association and was a member of the Buttonwood and Pilgrim Senior Centers.
He was the beloved father of Harold S. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Suzanne, and Kyle L. Jackson and his wife Pamela, all of Warwick, Stacia L. Zaroogian and her husband Timothy of North Kingstown, and Stephanie L. Desrosiers and her husband Roger of North Dartmouth, MA. Caring brother of Charlotte Caplette of Warwick and the late Herbert and Kenneth Jackson, Beatrice Kelly and Gloria Finn. Cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Christopher and Rebecca Desrosiers, Tonya, Scott, Cameron and Connor Jackson and Amy and Adam Zaroogian.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 4-7 pm.
