Mary E. McCann-Chatigny

Mary E. McCann-Chatigny, 99, a resident of the Jeanne Jugan Residence passed away Saturday at The Residence. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Chatigny and the late George R. McCann. Born in Blackstone, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Laliberte.

Mrs. Chatigny was a longtime communicant of St. Theresa Church in South Attleboro and a member of the Christian Mothers group of the church. She was a member of the Piel Club and an active volunteer at LaSalette.

She was the beloved mother of Martin McCann of South Attleboro, Thomas J. McCann of Golden, Colorado and Eileen M. Murphy of North Smithfield. Caring sister of Alice Magill and Pauline Barsaleou, both of Attleboro and the late Norman, Robert and Paul Laliberte, William and Thomas Dunlevy, Margaret Mann, Florence Boyle, Madeline Landry and Annette Boyle. Loving grandmother of six, great grandmother of sixteen and great-great grandmother of two. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 am in The Chapel of The Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4-7 pm at The Residence.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated.
