Richard N. “Spider” Smith, 61, of West Warwick, died Wednesday at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. Taylor for 23 years.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Thomas J. Smith, Sr.
and Esther B. (Norton) Smith.

Mr. Smith was an Analyst for the Electric Boat Division of General
Dynamics Corp. in both North Kingstown and Groton, CT for over 30
years. He served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War and
was an avid sports enthusiast.

He was the loving uncle of Edward G. Beaudreau, Jr. and Kathleen
Beaudreau-Amaral. He was the brother of the late Thomas J. Smith, Jr.
and Esther M. Beaudreau.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-8 pm. 8 pm.
