Margaret M. (Barry) Robert, 97, a resident of St. Jeanne Jugan Residence passed away Wednesday at The Residence. She was the wife of the late Rene Robert, Thomas F. Scanlon and Charles J. Clark. Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Catherine (Hayes) Barry. Mrs. Robert was a head waitress at Theresa's Spaghetti Place and was also a waitress for many years at Pawtucket Country Club. She was a member of the first graduating class of St. Edward School. She was very active in the Democratic Party of Pawtucket and in Senior Citizens affairs. She served as Vice President and Secretary for BVCAP, President of Burns Manor Association, and President of the Northern Plaza Senior Citizens Association. Mrs. Robert was the recipient of many state and city awards for her service to the Pawtucket Community. She was the beloved mother of Thomas F. Scanlon and Gloria C. Barrows, both of Pawtucket. Caring sister of Bertha Woods of Plainfield, CT and the late Helen Fields and Charles Barry. Loving grandmother of seven, great grandmother of fifteen and great great grandmother of four. Cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm in The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket.
