Isabella M. (Mercurio) Pontarelli, 54, of Sarasota, Florida, died June 26, 2010 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Born in Providence, she was a beloved daughter of Isabella (Neville) Mercurio of Warwick and the late Salvatore Mercurio. Ms. Pontarelli had been self employed as a hairdresser. She was a graduate of Toll Gate High School, class of 1975 and a graduate of Costin School of Beauty & Hairdressing. She was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. She was the loving mother of Michael John Pontarelli of Cranston. Caring sister of Joseph C. Mercurio of Jamestown, Margaret M. Watson of East Greenwich, Ellen M. Garland of West Warwick, Teresa M. Mercurio of Girdwood, AK, Catherine M. Crank of Scott City, MO and Ann M. Mercurio of Seattle, WA. Cherished grandmother of Michael J. Pontarelli, Jr., Jeremy Bernash, Gianna Pontarelli and Victoria Pontarelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday July 24, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
