Liduino Costa Nunes, 79, of West Warwick, passed away Wednesday at the V.A. Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Antoinette (D'Arpino) Nunes. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Christavo and Rosa (Rodriges) Nunes.

Mr. Nunes was the owner and operator of Nunes Fruit Store and was also employed by the Warwick School Dept. He served in The United States Army during the Korean War. He was very active in many clubs and organizations.

He was the loving father of John C. Nunes of Warwick, Rosanne A. Conard of Cranston, Patricia A. Lambert of Coventry and Christine V. Nunes of Warwick. Caring brother of Thomas Nunes of West Warwick, Christopher Nunes of East Providence, Marion Charron of Coventry and the late Lionel Nunes, Mae Pappas, Rose Pandozzi, Clara Gosslin and Palmira Bolek. Cherished grandfather of six and great grandfather of one.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-8 pm.
