Sophie M. (Wojtyna) Messersmith, 97, of Cranston, passed away Saturday at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre. She was the wife of the late Jesse L. Messersmith. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Katherine (Troyan) Wojtyna. Mrs. Messersmith was a Supervisor for Uniroyal Inc. in Providence for 37 years. She is survived by her loving family Kenneth and Ann Marie Krzan and Kimberly Rojas. She was the sister of the late Zigmund L. Wojtyna, Blanche H. D'Uva and Agnes A. Wojtyna.
