John F. “Jack” McKay, 76, of East Greenwich Avenue, died Monday at home. He was the husband of the late Beverly C. (Roberts) McKay. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Earl J. and Annie (Best) McKay.
Jack and Beverly were the Proprietors of Warwick Office Machines. Jack retired in 1993. He served in The United States Navy during the Korean War.
He attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church. He was a member of F&AM Nathaniel Green Lodge #45 and Harmony Lodge #9, The Elks Tri-City Lodge #14 for 32 years and the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Department. He was the beloved father of William D. McKay of Lakewood, CA, Robert A. McKay of Louisville, KY and Linda J. Leavitt and Janet E. Bruno, both of Warwick. Loving brother of David McKay and Edna Saunders, both of Warwick and the late Steven McKay and Jean Fleming. Cherished grandfather of Dawn Leavitt, Peter McKay, Alyssa Bruno, Diana McKay and Nicholas Bruno.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to VNA Hospice of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
