Frances C. (Gaffney) Masse, 78, of Hope, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Masse, Sr. Born in Scituate, she was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Wilcox) Gaffney.

Mrs. Masse was a machine operator for Arkwright in Fiskeville until her retirement. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Church and a Foster Grandparent.

She was the beloved mother of Dorothy Levesque and her husband Gerard, Albert J. Masse, Jr. and Richard E. Masse and his wife Sherry, all of Coventry and Kathleen D. Eddy and her husband David of Hope. Caring sister of nine. Loving grandmother of five and the late Jessica Owens. Cherished great grandmother of six. She is also survived by her beloved dog “Chi Chi”.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in SS Peter & Paul Church, Highland Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 5-8 pm.
