Joyce E. (Crudden) Lyons, 70, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 28, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born 1939 in East Greenwich, she was a daughter of the late James S. Crudden and Flora (Bacon) Crudden. She was a lifelong resident of Warwick and was affectionately referred to as “The Matriarch of Groveland Avenue”, having lived there since 1943. Mrs. Lyons was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She leaves her children: James W. Lyons of Warwick, Thomas P. Lyons of Cranston, and Kelly E. Pacheco of Warwick. Loving grandmother of Heather L. Lyons, Brittany A. Lyons, and Emily E. Pacheco. She was the sister of the late James S. Crudden and Ricky Crudden. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, East Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
